How a pairing works.

Our part

We look for, vet and pair you with a preceptor or field mentor whose hours your program will count, and we prepare the agreement, credential and clearance paperwork in your school's own format. Practicum Mentors is an independent service and isn't affiliated with any university or licensing board.

Things we turn down

Promises about grades, a specific preceptor by name, a site your program doesn't allow, or a mentor whose supervision your program wouldn't accept. If we say no, we put the reason in writing.

Your part

Give us accurate details, send documents when your coordinator asks, and show up for the hours on your schedule. If a pairing is lost because details were wrong or hours were missed, we'll set up a new one on new terms.

Fees

You get a written quote before you're paired and pay once the pairing is made. The quote stays the same unless your placement changes, and it explains any refund if we can't pair you.

Ending a pairing

Either of us can end it with notice, and it ends on its own after your final evaluation. Completed work is charged at the quoted rate; papers filed with your school stay there unless your school asks for them back.
